From jdeitch911 at access995.com Thu Sep 9 18:38:43 2004 From: jdeitch911 at access995.com (Janis Deitch) Date: Thu Sep 9 17:38:52 2004 Subject: [Aepmembers] AEP - BOARD OF DIRECTORS EBALLOT Message-ID: <001001c496b5$62070250$43cfefc7@JANISMARIE> AEP EBallot - for October 2004-September 2005 Board of Directors Welcome to the annual AEP Board of Directors Election. Taking part in the AEP Board of Directors online election couldn't be easier. Simply 'forward' this email to execdir@aep.org and put 'approve slate' or 'disapprove slate' in the body of your email message. Please 'forward' by Wednesday, September 15, 2004. Thank you for your participation in this election. Following are your candidates for your AEP Board of Directors (3-year terms): 1. Franz Ritucci, MD, FAEP: I am an AEP Fellow and Charter Member. I have attended several regional meetings for ACEP and AEP and have a deep concern regarding the current politics in the House of Medicine today. I am the Director of the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine in Orlando, Florida, where I currently work in Urgent Care Ambulatory Medicine. This organization represents several physicians who have been ostracized in their field and find Urgent Care a haven for them to work. These doctors have not been allowed to use their talents in Emergency Medicine. Many of these doctors are the founding fathers of Emergency Medicine today. Seeing AEP as a voice in Emergency Medicine, I wish to serve on the Board of Directors to help make the voices of these physicians heard and to present AEP's case strongly to hospital panels and before the House of Medicine. 2. Gabriel Sanchez, MD, FAEP I have the honor to place my name for consideration as a candidate for membership of the Board of Directors of AEP. I have been a member of this organization for several years and have been to the gatherings of members in a national forum. I would like to see this organization grow, not only in terms of the number of members, but more importantly, in the activities and programs that will enhance the individual member's professional and personal growth, and the organization's national prestige. There seems to be a proliferation of Emergency Physicians organizations, and I would like to be involved in one that aims to benefit the membership towards positive professional goals, without practicing arrogance and political manipulations. I believe that AEP has the potential of being a larger and more prestigious association, and a more desirable group to belong to, and be involved with. For these reasons, I desire to be involved as an active part of the leadership. My past and present experiences in the field of Medical leadership, as former ED Medical Director, former Chief of Medical Staff, as a present active Quality and Utilization Committee member, and as someone who is committed to quality and leadership in Medicine, will vouch for my ability to fulfill the commitments of AEP leadership, along with the other officers. . Drs. Ritucci and Sanchez are running for second 3-year terms for your AEP Board of Directors. Thank you for your vote. Please go to the AEP website at http://www.aep.org to see the election results.
